SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: PNB ROCK – TRAPSTAR TURNT POPSTAR

PNB Rock

PNB Rock
Trapstar Turnt Popstar
Atlantic

PNB Rock has released his sophomore album, Trapstar Turnt Popstar. With 18 tracks and features from Roddy Ricch, Lil Skies, Diplo, Quavo, Tory Lanez, Tee Grizzley, Lil Durk,  XXXTentacion, and Aboogie With The Hoodie, PNB Rock delivers a good solid album.

PNB Rock blends both street music with pop on this project. At times, PNB Rock becomes very introspective as in “Middle Child”, “Nowadays”, and “Deez Streetz” where he covers such topics as heartbreak, growing up in shelters, and his own mother selling drugs to survive. Elsewhere, he delivers catchy and fun-filled tracks such as “I Like Girls”, “Swervin”, and “All these Bandz” that people can enjoy without much thought.

One thing that should be noted is that the features on the album fit each song. Whether it be Tory Lanez, NBA Young Boy, Tee Grizzley, Lil Wayne, Lil Skies, XXXTentacion, and Aboogie, each artist is able to use their unique style and fit the vibe of the track.
