SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: MICHAEL FEUERSTACK – ETERNITY MONGERS

Michael Feuerstack

MICHAEL FEUERSTACK
ETERNITY MONGERS
FORWARD MUSIC GROUP/BACKWARD MUSIC

Michael Feuerstack is no stranger to talk about delicate things in life through music, nor to having a concept run through his albums. And, judging by his latest, Eternity Mongers, this Montreal singer-songwriter has exactly the capability and touch to do so in the best manner possible.

After all, being 30 years on the scene as Snailhouse or under his real name, Feuerstack has shown with his previous work that his capabilities go beyond your standard singer songwriter fare.

Here, he even takes things a step further, deciding to have the sound be alive as possible, giving it, as he puts it, “something that took the live-off-the-floor production value of a Peel session and played it through an old jukebox in a diner.”

And it seems (and sounds) that he was able to do exactly that, giving his music and lyrics that down to earth sound that both his music and lyrics deserve. Great stuff.
