LUZER
LA INSOPORTABLE INCROSPIDEZ DEL SER
HOPELESS RECORDS

If you’re craving pop punk vibes reminiscent of the 2000s, look no further than Mexico City’s luzer. They deliver this sound entirely in Spanish, so you might have to forgive yourself for not understanding every word. Their EP, La insoportable incrospidez del ser released in April, features five incredibly catchy tracks that are sure to energise you.
With a blend of male and female vocals, I lean more toward the male vocals, which evoke a comforting nostalgia from that era. The opening track, “Insoportable (mejor me echo una chela)” embodies the classic pop-punk sound and stands out as a highlight. The vocals are sweet and youthful, occasionally punctuated by a guttural growl, striking an inviting balance without being overly aggressive.
luzer’s take on Latin pop punk offers a fresh and unique experience. It’s worth a listen. While I look forward to hearing more intensity or complexity in their future work, I think there’s a youthful demographic that will genuinely connect with this band.
