So, is there a difference between Americana and Canadiana? Sure, musically, the two are like twins, but even with twins, there are visible (or in this case, audible) differences, and no matter how subtle they might be, they are there, as British Columbia singer-songwriter Leeroy Stagger brings us on his latest album, Pilgrimage.

One of the key things where Americana and Canadiana are both similar and different is the storytelling element- and it is all in the setting, subject matter, and even the mood, and sometimes you can feel that not only in the lyrics but in the musical setting they are placed in.
And yes, Stagger exemplifies both the similarities and differences here, but the key is that both his songwriting and performance are nothing short of exemplary, making the listener forget about neatly filing his music in a certain mental file and simply listen to it.
