Having something that is like a whisper of a voice can be either a blessing or a curse. It all depends on what kind of musical setting you give it, and of course, whether it is good or not so good.

Vietnamese American multi-instrumentalist and producer Kelly Truong, aka kelz, has such a voice, and judging by A Sweet Passerby, her new album, she has given it an excellent setting in a cross between modern, electro-acoustic pop and dream pop.

Truong obviously has a strong understanding of modern pop, as well as how to give her voice a melodic setting that brings out its best qualities, all of which requires more than just solid songwriting, arrangement, and production skills, which she obviously has.
The result is catchy, detailed, and quite breezy summertime pop that works on all levels.
