KATY PINKE & WILL GRAEFE
PATTERNS
GLAMOUR GOWNS

So many artists, those who are well-known and those who are not so well-known, are taking stock and reviewing what they have done so far, as well as where their inspiration comes from, and they are doing it by recording cover albums. Of course, it all starts with having good taste in your choices, but very often, that is not enough.
Choosing to cover music from artists whose music is not so easy cover requires some serious talent and capabilities, for the results not only measure up with the originals, but to show that personal touch to make them stand out.
And yes, Katy Pinke might not be such a household name these days, but Patterns, her latest release of covers, deserves to help her become one.
Not only does she cover music from a wide range of sources, from The Beach Boys and Elliott Smith to Jeff Buckley and Frank Ocean, but she is also able to cover the really hard stuff such as Brian Wilson and Jeff Buckley with ease. Her voice allows her to do that with ease, and most of it done in one take at that. Pinke along with guitarist Will Graefe who supports her here, give it all a personal touch that deserves oh so many listeners.
