Put on your dancing shoes, it’s about to get funky around the world! The beloved Hot 8 Brass Band, who is currently touring in Europe, has released its sixth album, Take Cover.

Unifying people and transcending the long-standing traditions of brass, Take Cover is a colorful parade of joy, uplifting rhythms, and freedom of the soul. Reflecting the band’s emergence from sorrow after losing some of its members to Hurricane Katrina, the album serves as a vow to celebrate life.

Take Cover is a snippet of the band’s talent and consists of only five songs, but it is enough to lift your mood and bring the groove back into your life whenever you need it.

The cover of Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart” is a universal shout-out to the world in preparation for the energy and bliss of the tour. The deeply immersive swarm of happy saxophones, trombones, trumpets, and bass drums is topped off by leader Bennie Pete’s colossal tuba bass lines.

Listening to Take Cover feels like attending a cheerful parade with the Hot 8 Brass Band.
