Is having great, emotional, gritty vocals enough to come up with a very good album? Well, such vocals can create an impact, and Heather Aubrey Lloyd certainly has it, but is that enough?

Luckily, for her on Panic Room With A View, her latest album, we can add a positive check sign to practically everything else needed to make this record an excellent listen. Songwriting quality? It is there, Lloyd has an excellent sense of melody and lyricism, check. Her arrangements are not limited just to her very good acoustic guitar picking, a double check.

Does it all fit in a very good to excellent musical package that all fans of singer-songwriter genre and beyond it will love? Another big check. Yet will it all help Aubrey Lloyd make a big breakthrough in the currently very crowded singer-songwriter genre? Remains to be seen, but she certainly deserves to have it.
