Far From Saints

Quite a few decades ago, Fleetwood Mac proved that coming up with sophisticated pop is a specific art in itself where the artist(s) has to abide by the strict rules and formulas of a pop song while at the same time including elements that both abide by and neglect these formulas and limitations, while still coming up with something the audiences will love.
On their self-titled album, Far From Saints are a trio that definitely abide by such a view of pop music, without really trying to sound like anybody else in particular. At the same time, they are including all the familiar elements that make pop so leasing to the ear, but they seem to be assembling these elements in a way that first of all sound good to them in all of the ten songs here.
Luckily, their taste seems to fully coincide with that of listeners that are weaned on good, quality, sophisticated pop.
