If My Old Self would. be your first encounter with CR & The White Lights you could easily think that these guys are hiding somewhere in a Nashville suburb where alt Americana thrives or close to a California beach where, well, alt Americana has been thriving for decades.

No, those languid song paces and that omni-present pedal steel guitar come from New Jersey. But then, does it make any difference if it is actually good?

It actually goes quite a bit beyond just good, as these five Jersey guys led by one CR Gennone and their guests are so assured in creating this sound that they recorded this album mostly live. It could be the fact that they have been operating for some 10 years now and that the experience shows, but whatever the case, they got this sound down to a pat and in all the good ways too.
