SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: 88GLAM – 88GLAM2

Republic Records

Derek Wise and 88 Camino have released their sophomore album, 88Glam2. Following the impact of 88Glam1, the duo returns with more of its signature dark bangers. The album contains 14 solid songs, and features a variety of artists including Nav and Gunna.

88Glam2 balances 88 Camino’s melodic auto-tuned vocals with darker trap-style rapping from Derek Wise. Songs like “Lil Boat”, “Big Ship”, “It’s a Flex”, “Purple Baguettes”, and “Kawaski” demonstrate this blend perfectly.

88Glam2 will please anyone who enjoyed the duo’s first project; in fact, the two sound almost exactly the same. This is the album’s only major problem. Despite its strong points, there is no stylistic development.
