MF TOMLINSON
DIE TO WAKE UP FROM A DREAM
PRAH RECORDINGS

Back in 2023 when Tomlinson released his then album We Are Still Wild Horses, his grasp of psych and psych folk probably came as a surprise from this London-based Australian. This time, with Die To Wake Up From A Dream, his third album proper (his first Strange Time came out in 2021), he still continues not only to surprise and confound but expand his musical palette even further.
It turns out that it was a sort of Tomlinson’s plan all along, as these three albums form a sort of a trilogy, the current album being a concluding volume. And as with the previous two albums, Tomlinson keeps on raising the level of both diversity and quality of his music. This time around, he brings in some of the best elements of the Aussie greats that were The Go-Betweens and The Triffids, some more art rock, shoegaze, as well as a string of his vision of what modern classical music should sound like, all for good measure.
Yet, instead of all of it sounding like a sort of a musical chaos, Tomlinson finds both peace and order to come up with yet another great album.
