ROSS GOLDSTEIN
BLUNDERS
ODD CAT RECORDS

Going about it without any social media accounts as an artist/musician these days is like swimming upstream with a strong current coming your way, but that doesn’t seem to bother New York’s Ross Goldstein, who still has a number of releases on Bandcamp, including his latest album, Blunders.
Possible anonymity doesn’t seem to bother Goldstein, who even decided to move to New Mexico. But, leaving him deep in the musical shadows would be quite a shame.
One of the reasons New Mexico is in play for Goldstein might be that he has this left-field singer/songwriter style that veers between Grateful Dead’s American Beauty and Workingman’s Dead phase, and The Byrds psych folk phase.
Yet, there’s something else in Goldstein’s sound here, a combination of his inventive songwriting and crystal clear production by the new wave veteran Wreckless Eric, that gives Goldstein and his album that element which separates it from the pile of similar albums that come our way these days. No real blunders here.
