SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: ASHA JEFFERIES – EGO RIDE

If you are of the opinion that well-crafted, sophisticated pop is not worth your time, you just might as well move on and pass on Asha Jefferies’ new album Ego Ride. 

On the other hand, even if you do have such an opinion, you just might as well stick with Jefferies’ new effort as she presents here all the good arguments to give some excellent pop, and pop can definitely be excellent a chance.

Jefferies has a delicate light touch with her songwriting and is able to come up with some detailed melodies and arrangements that suit her voice so well.

At the same time, while being quite personal, her lyrics are something practically any listener can relate to, as almost all of us have passed through situations she describes here.

Whether ego plays a role here is beside the point, it surely doesn’t drown the excellent quality of Jefferies’ music.
