Lucia Stavros is not just your run of the mill singer songwriter, she is a composer and a vocalist, but also a multi-instrumentalist, with harp as her main instrument.

If that is an indication of what you might expect from her debut album Burn You Up, it is just that — an indication. Things become a bit clearer when you learn that Stavros is classically trained at the New England Conservatory but also frequently performs in experimental ensembles and in indie rock bands.

At the same time, with the debut and her own name, Stavros wanted to present an interesting concept  — make a mixtape of music that made her the musician she is, but instead of doing covers, presenting that music through original songs/compositions that embody that music in its idea and spirit.

And as you might expect from somebody who covers such a wide musical ground, Stavros goes practically everywhere — from modern classical and indie-inspired rock to modern pop and jazz.

Yet, it is quite a seamless combination of sounds, as Stavros has integrated all her inspirations into something quite personal that practically any listener can relate to.
