ROB CROW & KRAMER – “KEROSENE”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE
Today, Rob Crow (Pinback) and Kramer share a brand new homemade video to accompany their collaboration track, “Kerosene.” This new video, created by Crow himself, serves as a follow-up to the visuals for Kramer’s other collaboration tracks, one with Jad Fair & Danielson (“In A Lonely Place”) and another with Britta Phillips (“Nocturne”).
Wrote Rob of the collaboration: “A last minute iPhone video for a song off a 7-inch from a compilation box of 7-inches. I’ve finally arrived.”
The tracks “Kerosene,” “In A Lonely Place,” and “Nocturne” come off a brand new LP boxset release from Shimmy-Disc entitled Rings of Saturn, a collection of six 7” LPs packaged in an ornate wooden box. Each aforementioned LP is a mini-collaboration between Kramer and artists such as Britta Phillips (Luna, Dean & Britta), Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers), Jad Fair & Danielson, Eerie Wanda, David Grubbs (Gastr del Sol), and Rob Crow (Pinback, etc). The boxset is limited to just 333 hand-numbered copies, and is only available via Shimmy-Disc.
As Kramer wrote of the holistic project:
“In 2022, the pandemic seemed to be receding to the point where artists could work together again, side by side. So, returning to the spirit of my ‘Joyful Noise Recordings 2020 Artist-in-Residence’ vinyl box set…revisiting the borderless landscapes of audio art, tempered by the imaginations of the artists I chose to work with, then cast against the myriad infinities of mysteries betwixt those ageless, spinning rings… those rings that seem to sing, ‘…listen to us.’
Keep the rings open. Love cannot enter a clenched fist.”
