With a fresh moniker that is Valley Boy, and a debut album titled Children of Divorce, initially you just might think that you are encountering the music of this Valley Boy (real name James Alan Ghaleb Amaradio) for the first time.
Actually, willingly or not, you probably have, as Amaradio as been lending writing and production skills to household names including Sabrina Carpenter, Troye Sivan, Dua Lipa, and The Jonas Brothers and others for quite some time now, before starting a solo career.

Yet, if you are expecting some sort of (well-crafted) chart-oriented pop, Amaradio skips that playing field altogether here, with a more serious thematic and sets in the realm of singers and performers more akin to late Jeff Buckley (his vocal range gets close there too), but that songwriting and production touch that he obviously has is quite present here too, for an album that just might get to the charts anyway.
