Heather Nova
Pearl
Saltwater Records
Heather Novaβs 10th Studio album, Pearl, is a positive-feeling collection of all the little bits and pieces that are her heart.
Rocking the studio in the mountains of Spain, Nova has regrouped after a broken marriage, and risen up and found herself, peace, and independence and bled it all into this album. She found herself falling in love again after the fallout, and it has worked out to our advantage.
The lead track, βThe Wounds We Bled”, is a calm, cool, and collected take on the raw feelings of divorce. There is a smooth, calming sound that consistently flows throughout the entire album, and songs that a lot of us can relate to, whether weβve been through breakups or the pain of divorce, or it touches us on a personal level, having risen from the ashes to find ourselves and put the broken pieces back together.
Overall, this album deserves two thumbs up. Grab your girlfriends and the wine and empower yourselves with the wonderful message that is Pearl.
