Catfish And The Bottlemen
The Balance
Island Records
After the 3-year-long brutal wait, fans finally get to hear the newest addition to the Catfish roster. The Balance is the third studio album from the Wales-based artists and does not disappoint. After teasing the album with the release of the single The Longshot on Jan 7, fans became very anxious, and The Balance continues that unmistakable sound that has carried them to the heights that people like us can only dream of.
This album is incredible! The band seems to have shied away from the slower somber tracks heard on previous albums. However, that is not necessarily a bad move. The newest album plays on personal relationships, with tracks like βFluctuateβ, and βThe Longshotβ, and becomes very personal when the anthem of love β2Allβ reaches the ears. The Balance begins the 11-track melodic journey on a hasty note and maintains that speed throughout the entire album.
The quality of the album is outstanding! With crisp vocals, crunchy guitars, and heavy drums, percussion, and bass, every track is a captivating experience. Instruments pan at the perfect times bringing you directly into each mix, and no sound is overwhelming or overpowering, making this in my opinion, a perfectly mastered album.Β
The Balance is a memorable, catchy, and even relatable experience that fans, and newcomers alike will play over and over, and add to their favorite music collection, because that is most definitely where it belongs.
