SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: for all the emptiness – mt

for all the emptiness

for all the emptiness

Independent

If you are looking for new dark electronic music to dance to, the search is over — for all the emptiness’ mt EP is it. The EP starts with ”seduced by a disease”.  The lyrics ”is this love or is it a disease?” makes me think of limerence when I close my eyes while listening. I can picture people getting up from their chairs and making the dance floor crowded and sweaty with good old-school stomping. The song that follows, ”you hurt”, begins with haunting effects and progresses into an energetic song about surviving someone else’s abuse. ”i’ll remember confusion” is a beautiful song with uplifting lyrics and, of course, is another great song to dance to. Two songs with deep lyrics — in-line with the previous work of for all the emptiness — complete the EP: ”heart against minds” and ”stronger than before” are both lyrically and musically powerful tracks. DJs will definitely have a hard time picking which song to play from the mt EP, and playing it at home or on the go will induce a continuous and much enjoyable loop of EBM, Futurepop and Synthpop.
