Bad Moms (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Sony Music
Mashed together for the film, Bad Moms is a decent soundtrack for any girlsβ night out, or in. Sometimes movies have great soundtracks that are 100% worth the money spent on it; most of the songs featured in the film are on it, there are a lot of good tracks, and all the songs mesh decently together. However, Bad Moms falls short of being that kind of album.
Thereβs a mix of fun, upbeat Dance tunes and a few mellow and slower songs. Although all the songs on the album are featured in the film, not all those that appear in the movie made it on Bad Moms (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). The majority of the songs are Top 40, but a few lesser-known artists and even Foreignerβs βI Want to Know What Love isβ are featured.
The flow of the album is a bit odd at points. Mind you, many albums can easily transition from song to song, but not necessarily in this case. Part of it is the fact that all tracks are featured more or less in order of their appearance in the film, rather than moved around to sound better. Another is that because itβs so short and doesnβt include more of the songs that were featured in the film, there arenβt a lot of in-between tracks to use as segues.
Mind you, that doesnβt mean that the songs on the album are bad. The songs themselves are good and the artists themselves produce quality content. Itβs just the album itself, which does sometimes happen when mixing various artists together.
The album isnβt going to change anyoneβs life and itβs not one of those you-gotta-hear-it-before-you-die classics. Itβs another spontaneous purchase made just before getting to the cash register made under the assumption that a good movie must mean a good soundtrack.
Ultimately, itβs not a bad album for anyone who enjoys Top 40 hits and feel-good tracks.
