SAVING BAMBI RELEASE NEW SINGLE, “COOKING UP SOME GIRL SHIT”
DISRUPTOR RECORDS
Saving Bambi release “Cooking Up Some Girl Shit,” the first single from the band’s forthcoming A-side/B-side project, set for release in early 2027. Arriving alongside the band’s debut music video, the track offers the first taste of a two-song release rooted in the spirit of classic punk-rock singles.
The forthcoming A-side/B-side is the first release from Saving Bambi, featuring Mallory (guitar/lead vocals), Jasmine (bass/vocals), Carlea (drums), and Karine (keyboard/vocals). Loud, playful, and deliberately rough around the edges, the project introduces a band built on female friendship, big hooks, and the simple joy of getting together and making a lot of noise.
Drawing from punk, garage rock, alternative, and pop-rock influences, the band pairs driving rhythms and shout-along hooks with sharp, playful lyrics. At its core, Saving Bambi is about picking up the instrument, turning it up, and taking up space.
On “Cooking Up Some Girl Shit,” Saving Bambi takes the old idea of a woman’s place being in the kitchen and gleefully sets the kitchen on fire. Built around domestic imagery, the track turns the stereotype inside out: pots become something to spit in, pans get broken, drums get banged, and the “dish” being served is loud, messy, unapologetically female punk rock. With its tongue firmly in cheek, “Cooking Up Some Girl Shit” reclaims the phrase “girl shit” as something that can be rowdy, crude, funny, and defiant. Beneath the humour is the idea at the heart of Saving Bambi itself: Women don’t need permission or an invitation to the table. We’ll make our own.
