SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: LENE 3000 – GREATEST SWAMP HITS

Lene 3000

LENE 3000
GREATEST SWAMP HITS
10K PROJECTS

Lene 3000 is the moniker of Norwegian witch house singer songwriter Lene Talgø, who is just releasing her debut album with a grand title of Greatest Swamp Hits.

For the uninitiated, according to Wikipedia’s definition, witch house is a microgenre of electronic music that is musically characterized by high-pitched keyboard effects, heavily layered basslines and trap-style drum loops.

Yet, on her debut, Lene 3000 doesn’t exactly stick to this strict word by word definition, going more for that darker side of dream pop feel with both her songwriting and vocals trying to find a broader alleyways that tend to meander between genres and sub-genres without strictly adhering to them.

Luckily for Lene, there is some solid substance in her music that promises more than this debut being a flash in the pan.
