THE KLITTENS
HAVE A HEART
THK/CARGO RECORDS

How do you combine together as a relatively new artis/band so many strands of rock and still give it some sort of a unifying character? This might be an eternal question for new artists/bands and not so many are able to answer it properly with their debut album.
On the other hand, when it works, such attempts can range from simply charming to excellent, and Amsterdam’s 5-piece The Klittens practically cover that full range on their debut album Have a Heart.
There is a sort of unifying energy and synergy going on here, from the cheeky band name to their energized take of Gang of Four with the opener “Badlands” across the pop/post-punk stylings of “Nothing to Teach” to pop balladry of “Blue Hue: A Short Plea” and elsewhere, without really taking a bad step anywhere here. And it all seems to work as if the girls in the band are doing it with some ease that promises even better things to come.
