ONE IN THE CHAMBER – “CROOKED GIRL”

A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE

Five years ago, on a hot day in August, One In The Chamber watched the sun rise over a skyline we all know and love as they shot what was to become their fifth music video. Throughout the day, they set up and teared down outside some of their favourite venues throughout Toronto while being joined by some amazing artists, friends, and supporters. Unfortunately, shortly after, it seemed most of the footage was corrupted and it appeared as though the video would never see the light of day, that is until earlier this year when the incredible Kathleen Fobert was able to salvage what we all thought was forever lost to the digital ether.

Originally released on our 2022 EP, Reload, the video for “Crooked Girl” was shot in 2021 with longtime collaborators Kathleen Fobert and Diego Perez Del Rio. The final video sees One In The Chamber performing throughout the streets of Toronto while being cursed by the presence of an apparition of a mysterious woman set to a gritty alternative rock soundtrack.

“The video originally served as a statement against the closure of many of Toronto’s beloved venues post-pandemic. While the shape of the video has changed drastically since then, the message, unfortunately, remains both compelling and increasingly relevant. We want to thank everyone, seen and unseen, who joined us on that day, and special thanks to Kathleen Fobert – without you, there would be no music video.
