THE DEVIN CUDDY BAND SHARES “TWO HOSERS” | A WITTY FIRST TASTE OF LIVIN’ HARD AIN’T EASY LP
INDEPENDENT
On April 14th, JUNO Award-nominated singer-songwriter Devin Cuddy shared “Two Hosers,” a playful, sharply drawn new single steeped in humour, character, and unmistakable Canadiana. Out now, the track offers a lively first taste of The Devin Cuddy Band’s new album Livin’ Hard Ain’t Easy (April 17), and gives an early look at a record shaped by road life, late nights, and the kinds of stories you only pick up playing bars across the country. Listen to “Two Hosers” HERE.
Recorded live off the floor in just four days, the upcoming album captures the warmth, looseness, and chemistry that have long defined Cuddy’s live show. On “Two Hosers,” that spirit comes through in full — a witty, lived-in track that balances tongue-in-cheek charm with the kind of affectionate storytelling that makes the song feel less like caricature and more like a knowing snapshot of Canadian life.
“‘Two Hosers’ is one of those songs that really came out of the people and places we’ve spent time around,” says Cuddy. “There’s a lot of humour in it, but it also comes from a real place.”
The single sets the tone for Livin’ Hard Ain’t Easy, a record that finds Cuddy returning to his early country and roots influences while drawing from years of touring across Canada. Rather than a polished studio approach, the album leans into a more immediate, unfiltered sound, designed to feel as though the band is right there in the room.
Now on his fourth full-length release, Cuddy has steadily built a reputation as a road-tested voice in Canadian roots music. From his JUNO-nominated debut Volume One through years of national touring, his work reflects a deep connection to place, community, and the lived experiences that shape his songwriting.
Following the album’s release, Devin Cuddy will be bringing Livin’ Hard Ain’t Easy to stages across the country, with many shows already selling out.
