SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: THE WILD FEATHERS – LONELY IS A LIFETIME

The Wild Feathers

The Wild Feathers
Lonely Is A Lifetime
Warner Bros.
RATING

The Wild Feathers’ first track “Overnight” on their album Lonely Is a Lifetime transports you into those summer music festival days. The steady pulses of this album give off an indie-rock feel while maintaining a cool and calm attitude. The raspy vocals are paired with some stellar harmonies, showcasing the tight rhythmic qualities of the band. The Nashville-based group is composed of Ricky Young on guitar and vocals, Taylor Burns on guitar and vocals, Joel King on bass and vocals, and Ben Dumas on drums.

“Goodbye Song” brings in a hint of country, with the opening lyrics “stole some marijuana and some pain pills.” The diversity in The Wild Feathers’ sound does not disappoint, particularly when you reach the track “Lonely Is A Lifetime.” This suave a cappella quality covers you in layers of harmonies and smooth guitar playing. Whether you are feeling like rocking out, sulking, or just relaxing, this album has it all for you. And you might be thinking, “who does this remind me of?” – but the album is tough for comparison purposes. The unique sound speaks for itself.

Grab a copy of Lonely is a Lifetime and get ready for summer vibes. Keep an eye out for The Wild Feather’s live shows, touring now until June 25.
