PYRAME – “SO SPRACH PSYCHEDELIA (RAMBAL COCHET’S TRANCE MIX)”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE
Rambal CochetΒ΄s trance mix of “So Sprach Psychedelia” is Swiss artist Pyrame’s latest release via his founding record label Thisbe Recordings. The music video incorporates parts and insights from Hispano-German film director Christian Krueger’s upcoming short film “Unzureichend” (“Insufficient”).
Pyrame is a physicist turned music and film producer who has emerged in the electronic music scene with his label, Thisbe Recordings. He combines elements of synth-pop, post-disco, and progressive electronica to create raw emotions through his melodies and lyrics, which are inspired by his endless adventures around the world. Pyrame draws inspiration from Greek Mythology and is influenced by new wave, metal, and grunge, as well as classical and electronic music. After releasing his debut EP “A Fine Life” in 2019, Pyrame matured in his sound, creating a darker and more electro tone in his second EP, The Pace of Everything That Lives. His third EP, Electronica Melancholia, is a progressive and inspiring composition for his newly-born son.
Pyrame’s unique sound is highlighted in his latest EP, Electronica Melancholia, which opposes commercial music via the creation of an unstable yet serene expression through pulsations, glows, and melodic traces. The EP is a fusion of various languages and influences, resulting in highly evolved and distinct sound organisms. The EP’s driving idea is that music’s capacity to generate moods that protect us is inexhaustible. Its meaning is up to electronic music lovers beyond the dance floor and hedonism. The EP features his original track “So Sprach Psychedelia”, along with three remixes from: Rodion, Skelesys, and Rambal Cochet.
Rambal Cochet is an electronic music project created by Konstantyn, who also releases under the name Volta Cab. The producer has a range of influences, and has previously released music on Soil Records, I.D.A., and Electric Shapes. Cochet produces a captivating trance mix which offers an immersive audio experience and complements Krueger’s overall creative vision for the music video.
Christian Krueger is a Spanish film artist based in Berlin, working mainly within the surrealist realm. Krueger mixes different techniques, such as filming with macro lenses, stop motion and cinematography, to create disturbing and suggestive works that remain open to interpretation. In the vast majority of his works he mixes fact with fiction, using the real characters of the themes portrayed. Krueger’s upcoming short film UnzureichendΒ (“Insufficient”), aims to reflect on the principles and questions of what it means to being human. Aspects of the film are manifested in the visual interpretation of Pyrame’s remixed track. The music video creates immersive experience, using surreal landscapes, and ethereal atmospheres to evoke a general sense of unease.
ARTIST QUOTE
“For the music video of Rambal CochetΒ΄s Trance Mix of Swiss artist PyrameΒ΄s ‘So Sprach Psychedelia’ track, the Hispano-German film director Christian Krueger provides some parts and insights of his upcoming short film “Unzureichend” (“Insufficient”)
The film is an attempt to provide a late-adaptation to the principles of human-being, or indeed, what is – or could/should(?) be – being a human. It mirrors in pictures the original idea of the track ‘So Sprach Psychedelia’, a tune driven by instinctive and raw energy, purposely provocative and composed as a quest to an hypothetical new-normal.”
