LOSTBOYJAY PERFORMS 1-HOUR SET IN TORONTO’S ABANDONED LOWER BAY SUBWAY STATION
PRIVATE DANCE SET IN CELEBRATION OF HIS LATEST SINGLE “COULD BE WRONG”
In celebration of his latest single titled, ‘COULD BE WRONG’, LOSTBOYJAY held a live show in Toronto’s abandoned Lower Bay Subway Station on Saturday, January 14, 2023. The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) opened up the platform to the Toronto recording artist for an intimate 1-hour set that welcomed close to 100 Electronic Dance Music (EDM) fans, record label representatives, music industry folk, and members of the Toronto Rave Community.
The venue has made multiple appearances in music videos such as Drake’s ‘What’s Next’, as part of his Scary Hours 2 EP release and The Weeknd and Future’s “Coming Out Strong”, from Future’s HNDRXX album, while also being a nice easter egg in movie productions such as the 2001 thriller, ‘Don’t Say A Word’, the 2009 action-remake ‘The Taking of Pelham 123’, and the 2016 Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Viola Davis starred ‘Suicide Squad’.
Released by Polydor Records and Universal Music Group on December 2, 2022, LOSTBOYJAY’s ‘COULD BE WRONG’, notably features a recognizable sample by American recording artist Brandy Norwood, from her iconic debut single, ‘I Wanna Be Down’, that also appears on her 1994 self-titled debut album.
“This was my way of mixing my roots in Hip Hop and RnB into my dance music. I love soulful voices and music from the 90s. I produced the beat for ‘COULD BE WRONG’ and had a gut feeling that her (Brandy) vocals would be the perfect fit”, said Jay Daillie, aka LOSTBOYJAY.
LOSTBOYJAY, began creating music out of his Toronto-bedroom at the age of 13. He kicked off his career producing Hip Hop and RnB music for a variety of emerging Toronto and American artists he connected with over the popular streaming service, SoundCloud. After years of producing for independent artists, LOSTBOYJAY stepped into his own solo career recording trapsoul music and even uncovered opportunities to open as a part of his own duo, for American Hip Hop group, Migos during an official afterparty at Whitehaus Nightclub in Mississauga, ON back in 2017.
