THE MUDFLOWERS EP RELEASE PARTY WITH RAINBOW SKULL PARTY AND BATTLER’S BLEND
@ BANSHEES BAR & ARTSPACE, IPSWICH, QLD (AU)
February 28, 2025
Banshees Bar and Artspace, a vibrant gem just 30 minutes from Brisbane, came alive on Friday night for The Mudflowers EP Release Party! The atmosphere was electric as the guitars blazed, featuring three distinctly different bands that each delivered their unique twist on rock. It was a night full of energy with some Aussie rock on show.
Kicking things off with Rainbow Skull Party, what an electrifying experience! This psychedelic rock fusion set the perfect tone for the evening, unleashing a wave of energy that had everyone buzzing. The synergy between the band members was palpable. Still, tonight, the guitarist stole the show with a masterful use of instrumentals that transported us to an otherworldly realm, as if we were facing extra-terrestrials! And then there’s “ClownFace”—irresistible! It’s a thrilling ride that dances on the edge of terrifying, striking a perfect balance between sanity and insanity. The playful banter flowed between songs, making it clear that Banshees is the ultimate venue for this incredible group, radiating a vibe that felt like a reunion of old friends. Rainbow Skull Party is a full-on celebration, a joy to witness, and an absolute delight for the ears!
Get ready for The Mudflowers, tonight, celebrating their EP with an all-inclusive EP Release Party. This band brings a refreshingly unique vibe! Their lead vocals burst with the nostalgic essence of 90s indie, melodic synth, and it’s mesmerising. As I dance across the floor, I’m completely floored by the sound. The dreamy vocals wrap around me like a warm embrace, while the guitar riffs ignite the intense atmosphere. Suddenly, the lead vocalist breaks into an electrifying dance, twirling two fans draped in delicate fabric, and I’m swept away into a euphoric trance that feels like a fever dream! It’s an exhilarating fusion of captivating vocals and dynamic guitar work—pure bliss!
Battler’s Blend bring the evening to a close with a short setlist, apologising for their tardiness, they made it in the nick of time to support The Mudflowers EP Release Party, with intense rock energy and smooth sleek attitude – I think these gents have something. A short set, but as it moved closer to completion, the lead vocalist became more manic channelling the essence of musicians from a bygone era, obviously feeling the music, as the set is more likened to a garage jam session, and I’m all about it—hopefully more to follow from these fellas.
Shout out to Banshees Bar & Artspace, until next time.
