2026 JUNO AWARDS PRESS CONFERENCE
@ TD COLISEUM, HAMILTON
NOVEMBER 24, 2025
Hamilton’s TD Coliseum buzzed with hometown pride and national anticipation this morning as CARAS unveiled the first wave of details for the 2026 Juno Awards. With cameras rolling and energy rising, the event felt less like a press conference and more like a promise. One that sets the stage for a milestone year in Canadian music.
CBC was confirmed as the exclusive broadcaster, solidifying the network’s long-standing relationship with the Junos and ensuring that audiences from coast to coast will have front-row access to the celebration. This year’s ceremony also comes backed by a significant $1.5 million investment, signaling genuine commitment to elevating the experience for artists, viewers, and the host city alike.
Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horvath emphasized the city’s enthusiasm, noting the “meaningful opportunity across the city” that the Junos will bring economically, culturally, and creatively. That spirit of community impact extended further through the announcement that MusiCounts will once again serve as the charity of choice. Their goal is to raise $100,000, and with two-thirds already secured, the momentum is unmistakably strong.

JONI MITCHELL TO RECEIVE THE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD AT THE 2026 JUNO AWARDS
Of course, any Juno season preview wouldn’t be complete without performance news and today’s rollout didn’t disappoint. Hamilton’s own Arkells will bring a homecoming energy to the stage, while celebrated rockers The Beaches will deliver the kind of high-octane performance that has cemented them as one of Canada’s fastest-rising powerhouses.
The morning also brought major recognition for two Canadian icons: Nelly Furtado, who will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and the legendary Joni Mitchell, who will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, both historic honours for a historic year.
If today’s announcements are any indication, the 2026 Junos are shaping up to be nothing short of electric. With big performances, major accolades, and a city ready to roll out the red carpet, it’s clear that Hamilton is gearing up to host one of the most exciting Juno Awards yet.
