Water Slice
Water Slice EP
Independent
Psychedelic-tinged, power pop songwriter Patrick Philips, also known as Water Slice, has arrived with his debut EP and it couldn’t have come at a better time of the year.
From the first track, Phillips soaks in the sun and lets it flow directly into his guitar. Each song has a guitar hook that, accompanied by his soft voice and a retro-sounding drum kit playing simple yet infectious beats, keeps you coming back. He draws you in completely with catchy choruses that you can’t help but nod your head and hum along to.
There are times when you’ll forget if you’re listening to the first or last song as they tend to blend together but it doesn’t make this listening experience any less enjoyable.
Water Slice’s debut EP is surely a product of its surroundings, sounding like it was made on a beach surrounded by palm trees. It’s all sunshine and truly was made for those hot summer days when you just want to relax and take it all in.
