Sarah Records is one of those stories in pop that long-lasting fandom is made of. The artists recording for the label at the time it was active were dubbed twee, and the whole scene surrounding it turned out into a full-fledged sub-genre.

Quite a number of artists that recorded for the label are still active in one form or other, and back in 2022 Britain’s Skep Wax records released the original Under The Bridge compilation that reunited original artists and songwriters.

Since the original comp went down quite well with the fans of the sound, the label now came up with a new (this time a double) set with the same concept, with most of the tracks being exclusive and unreleased.

What is intriguing about this set is that there is an obvious lineage to the original Sarah Records sound which, whether the artists updated that sound or not, still sounds fresh and inventive as it did at the time it first cropped up.
