SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: VARIOUS ARTISTS – BROWN ACID: THE SIXTEENTH TRIP

Brown Acid: The Sixteenth Trip
RidingEasy Records

Ok, is there really an answer to this question “will the “Brown Acid” series of compilations, now in its sixteenth edition, ever end?”

Well, maybe it is not a pertinent question here, the key one could be – when will the good folks at RidingEasy Records run out of excellent material (with rare exceptions of a few duds here and there) for this series?

It seems that at some point in the late 60s up to mid-70s almost everybody was in the studio with all the guitar and heavy rhythm tricks they learned in their garage, attic or cellar, coming up with some exciting sounds that any listener could latch onto, even if they were only a mild fan of hard psych, hard rock in any shape and form or proto metal.

Brown Acid -The Sixteenth Trip, keeps them coming (no duds here) with the over 7-mins opener “Shuckin’ and Jivin’” being the cream of the crop here.
