SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: VARIOUS ARTISTS – BROWN ACID: THE FIFTEENTH TRIP

Brown Acid

Various Artists
Brown Acid: The Fifteenth Trip
RidingEasy Records

“The Beat Goes On”, title of one of the two best songs Sonny & Cher recorded together, kind of stuck beyond the song itself, and it seems it is something that can easily apply to RidingEasy Records and their Brown Acid series of obscure hard rock and proto-heavy singles that have, for no good reason have been lost in time.

Somehow, and even beyond the apprehension of the fans of the series themselves, the folks at RidingEasy seem to keep coming up with gems that need to be heard again, and more than once at that.

For the 15th installment, RidingEasy have decided to pick a release date that easily fits with the series – October 31. Of course, a number of these can fit into the Halloween season and keep the high quality the series has established so far, like Black Hawk and their “Little Suzie Looker,” Negative Space and their “Forbidden Fruit”, or Truth and Janey and their version of Jagger/Richards’ “Under my Thumb.”

One serious problem with the Brown Acid series – once you get hooked, you can’t let it go.
