THREE DAYS GRACE
ALIENATION
RCA RECORDS

Canadian hard rock icons Three Days Grace are back with another album, Alienation. Here, they fire on all cylinders This also marks the first time that they have released a record as a two-vocal band.
On their own, Adam Gontier and Matt Walst are both tremendous vocalists with powerful range and raw emotion that instantly captivate listeners. Together, they are just as good, if not better. Gontier and Walst have some very cool vocal harmonies that really help some songs soar to new heights, with “In Waves” and “Mayday” being examples. On the other hand, on “The Power”, Gontier and Walst have tremendous chemistry and work off of one another perfectly.
As one can expect from a Three Days Grace record, Alienation features some exceptional hard rock songs that will undoubtedly raise the roof. “Dominate” is a thunderously riveting tune that is guaranteed to cause you to headbang with its magnetically fierce guitar riffs, intense vocal performances, aggressive in-your-face energy, very heavy, thumping bass lines, and an epic chorus that will have you screaming at the top of your lungs. Meanwhile, “Mayday” features one of their best acoustic guitar riffs to date. The chorus and melodies are just as impressive and entertaining, especially the chorus, which erupts with intensity, electricity, and ferocity. With “In Cold Blood”, the band unleashes an angsty energy, an eruptively loud chorus, monster riffs and some exhilarating breakdowns. Lastly, “Deathwish” is another brilliant and heavy song that is very groovy and contains some amazing guitar solos.
Other highlights include “Kill Me Fast” and “Don’t Wanna Go Home Tonight”. “Kill Me Fast” feels a bit like old Three Days Grace and has a very catchy chorus. “Don’t Wanna Go Home Tonight” offers a different direction stylistically than the rest of the record. This rock ballad is full of nostalgia, soft, tender moments, and poignant storytelling.
Overall, Alienation is a hard-rocking spectacle that fans of Three Days Grace will thoroughly enjoy.
