MARUCOPOROPORO
CONCEIVE THE SEA
FLAU
Japanese artist marucoporoporo might currently be a relatively unknown act, after all, Conceive The Sea is her debut album, with a previous EP back in 2018. Yet, the quality of this, not so easy definable music just might work in her favour, at least among the listeners that like that middle ground between ambient, modern classical, soft jazz fans.
marucoporoporo seems to have sussed the essence of all of those genres and sub-genres, and more so. She seems to have that touch that can insert into the compositions only those elements that are really needed to forward her concept, with her vocals being the cherry on the top of this light, fluffy musical cake on one side, but with quite substantial musical elements that put together make an excellent combination.
No musical wallpaper here, but still something that you can play at any point, knowing that it will work exactly as it should.
