Taking a route less traveled for any artist/musician is always filled with dangers and pitfalls, and to overcome these, you have to have a clear vision, determination and knowledge to truly overcome them. And when you take that route with your first official offering, those dangers and pitfalls become exponentially greater.

Still, that did not deter Lys Morke (AKA Irene Talló) from taking that route on her debut, 5-song EP Knife Therapy. Morke, a singer-songwriter, producer, and visual artist based in Barcelona and born in the nearby town of Terrassa, sees no musical (and lyrical) borders here—she likes her dream/nightmare pop and drenches it into a series of not so usual electronic arrangements and beats with equally dreamy/nightmarish lyrics and takes an unknow route with boundless inventiveness and determination.

The results are quite astounding with equally intriguing promises of even greater things to come.
