There was always a dilemma for the Lovell sisters – how to stay in touch with their love of blues roots and move forward with their music, without leaving blues out at any point.
Or was there any dilemma at all, as their latest album Bloom brings along once again that great combination of blues and all things roots and soul, wrapped in the almost perfectly played foil used by all the greats of such a sound from The Rolling Stones to Free to Little Feat and elsewhere.
Yet, for such a sound to really work you not only have to be emotionally involved in it (as Lovell sisters obviously are) but be able to play it almost to perfection with all those individual touches that would give it that special mark.
And as they have done it previously, Larkin Poe does it again here without missing a step.
