KILYNN LUNSFORD
PROMISCUOUS GENES
FEEL IT RECORDS

Ok, Kilynn Lunsford might seem an unusual name to some, but there are actually two who are currently making music—neither of the more usual kind. The one we’re talking about here though is from New Jersey, has two albums out, one of which is her latest Promiscuous Genes. So where does that unusual term fit in here, and is it of a good kind?
Well, this Lunsford picks her references from some very specific late 70s up to mid-80s sources from the art punk of Pop Group, Adrian Sherwood’s On-U Sound style beats and mutant disco experimentation of late Lizzy Mercier Descloux, all with a touch of darkness to boot. It all sounds very late night, somewhere between dreams and nightmares with slower movements on the dancefloor.
Yet, while it all might sound a bit too complicated, Lundsford’s musical combo actually sounds quite effortless and intriguing, as if the sounds she combines here were made for each other.
