Kilmore’s latest release From The Inside hits all the marks on the Psych/Groove/Stoner Rock report card. Straight A’s here!

This exceptionally talented Halifax-based band led by female vocalist Heather Harris and co-founded by Dan Doran is diverse, well-produced and heavy AF! Drawing parallels to bands such as Ruby the Hatchet and Windhand, Kilmore has stepped up and delivered big with From The Inside.

Setting the table on this fantastic EP is the standout track “Tempest”, that encapsulates the band’s unique sound and message. The deep moody half-time groove is juxtaposed with walls of guitars and taken OVER THE TOP with a commanding vocal performance. The beautiful production is complemented by thick pads of harmony vocals and addictive hooks that will lock you in for the remainder of this stunning EP.

“Omitted”, is a heavy ballad that showcases Kilmore’s musical diversity and immaculate studio performance in a song that will raise goosebumps. What stands out immediately with each song is the band’s exceptional musicianship – these recordings are straight up flawless. “Omitted” is about forgotten heroes, the everyday selfless worker who is out to help and who gets overlooked in a society where celebrity, fame and fortune always overshadows the regular folk.

Lead single “Firestone” is old school and heavy with a sinister undertone and a killer upbeat verse supported by spooky vocal pads. The half-time and rhythmically complex chorus absolutely SLAMS, solidifying the track as a perfect calling card for the band’s new release.

Track 5, “Underneath” LEAPS out as a major standout with its dreamy guitar intro and sultry vocals. This song stacks right up with some of the best female lead stoner rock metal on the scene. Heather Harris’ vocals once again draws you right into this dark sonic realm.

Kilmore is by far the best Canadian stoner/groove/psych band I’ve heard in forever, I have a feeling their rise to the big stage will happen sooner than later. For fans of this musical genre, From the Inside is an absolute MUST!
