COLD WAR KIDS
AWAL
Cold War Kids’ latest album is a refreshing breeze in the alternative rock music scene and stands out as one of the most distinctive records in the genre. With this being their 10th studio album, each track has a unique identity while maintaining the classic Cold War Kids sound we’ve grown to cherish. The album offers a delightful blend of lively, upbeat tunes, soothing rock melodies, and some heartfelt ballads. Cold War Kids have truly outdone themselves with this release, unveiling a previously unexplored facet of their musical prowess.
While we’ve already been introduced to a four-song EP, the complete 11-song album is one for the books. “Run Away With Me” unquestionably takes center stage on the album and is surely to be the song that stays on repeat. But it’s essential to give an honourable mention to “Empty Inside.” This groovy track is bound to set the dancer in you free, making it a tune that you can jam out to whether you’re out for your daily walk around the city, or playing full blast on your speaker. “Sunday in the City” is one of those songs that’s impossible to dislike. It exudes positive vibes and compels you to dance along, and luckily comes right after “Empty Inside” so you’re never missing a beat. What fans can admire most about this album is the incorporation of diverse musical styles throughout, breathing new life into their songs.
