ADELINE HOTEL
WATCH THE SUNFLOWERS
RUINATION RECORDS

Come to think of it, you could easily classify the music of Dan Knishkowy and Adeline Hotel as autumnal. After all, if you look at the band’s back catalogue, the last five albums, including Watch the Sunflowers, were released as autumn began to set in. Yes, you could get that feeling from the music too, as it is one of those LPs that has that languid, slightly mid-tempo feeling throughout.
Yet, that somewhat simple description doesn’t touch on the subtleties Knishkowy’s music brings, and Adeline Hotel’s latest is full of those. You could take that old phrase, the devil is in the details, and change that devil into an angel to describe this release; it’s an angelic album.
Essentially, Watch the Sunflowers is one of those albums that uncovers its riches as you keep listening to it, with Knishkowy’s music reaching new levels of maturity this time around. All of this solidifies the album as one of Adeline Hotel’s best so far.
