LIV WADE
RADIOS AND BUFFALOS
MERILÄINEN MUSIC INC.
Liv Wade is considered as one of the spearheads in what is called Indigenous Music Renaissance. Wade is of Metis and Scandinavian roots, her family originally came from the Red River Metis Nation, eventually settling in a Northern Manitoba area called Pine Bluff, just outside of The Pas.
Wade now lives in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, and combining the influence of her personal roots and inspiration from such Canadian icons as Leonard Cohen, Ron Sexsmith, and Kathleen Edwards, starting from her debut album in 2017 and now with her 6-song EP Radios And Buffalos, she has been creating some catchy, often roots-influenced music, often, like throughout this EP, enveloped in some tasteful arrangements that give her songs that pop appeal that deserves some serious (streaming) airplay.
The six songs here have both that commercial appeal and solid substance that promise even better things from Wade.
