SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: JESSICA WILDE – TEACH ME HOW TO LOVE

Jessica Wilde

JESSICA WILDE
TEACH ME HOW TO LOVE
ABSOLUTE LABEL SERVICES

When critics aren’t sure where to neatly categorize a solo artist, they usually reach for that often clumsy one – singer songwriter. Yet, these days, quite a few artists barely fit that category.

London-based Jessica Wilde describes herself as a music maker, songwriter, soul singer, spoken word, and rap rhymer. Now listening to her new album Teach Me How To Love you do get why she uses those descriptions of what she does –you do get some solid, modern pop, soul, as well as rap and spoken word.

Sure, it could be quite a disaster, but Wilde is more subdued than wild, has an excellent voice, and interweaves all those elements quite elegantly throughout all the songs on this album, giving an excellent presentation of what modern pop is comprised of.
