Back in the 90s and on into the new century, Jeff Martin and Idaho were coming up with some of the best sounds within what was dubbed as slowcore. While all the sounds connected with slowcore slowly went into the background, so did the Idaho output. Now, there not only seems to be a ‘slow’ resurgence of that sound, but Martin and Idaho are also back with Lapse, the band’s first album in 13 years.

Listening to the album you get the sense that nothing has been lost in the meantime and Idaho are again coming up with relevant music that has even matured a few steps further. Martin’s songwriting and vocals are as strong as they were and the band seems to have gained a degree in maturity that gives the 10 tracks here that substance Idaho music always had. So glad to have them back.
