Mötley Crüe commemorates the 40th Anniversary of their seminal album, Shout At The Devil with new release Year Of The Devil. It features a meticulously remastered version of the iconic Shout At The Devil album, complete with seven rare demo tracks that have been resurrected for fans to savour.

While it includes some beloved classics for Crüe enthusiasts, the inclusion of these demos provides a delightful glimpse into what the band might have unleashed but ultimately chose not to. One standout gem is “Black Widow,” a previously unreleased demo that’s finally seeing the light of day. It’s intriguing to consider how this could have evolved into a full-fledged song on the Shout At The Devil, or perhaps even as a special standalone single. Additionally, Year Of The Devil treats us to the demo of “Louder than Hell,” initially known as “Hotter Than Hell.” While the demo doesn’t stray far from the final version, “Louder” undeniably suits the spirit of the album better than “Hotter.” Moreover, this album allows us to relish demos for “Shout At The Devil,” “Looks That Kill,” and “Too Young To Fall In Love.”

As a devoted Mötley Crüe fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when hearing these tracks. There’s a profound beauty in comparing the evolution of a song from its raw demo form to the polished finished product. Any Mötley Crüe fan, new or old, will definitely appreciate the band and their musical talents a bit more after hearing this limited-edition box set.
