For all rock and other modern music fans it is good to know, if they don’t already, that 80% of the stuff they hear or listen to today is based on what this legend conceived while he was still around. Period.

Not much else to say music-wise. Those who know the music on this special reissue (probably by heart) don’t need to be familiarized with it, they just have to decide whether they need it or not. Those who don’t, well, this is the perfect moment to do so.

This is a new remaster from the original analog tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, and also features members of the legendary Funk Brothers, Motown Records’ celebrated house band.

This time around, the release comes as a 180-gram vinyl LP featuring a stereo mix of the album, as it was first released in 1962, with a tip-on jacket, which replicates Vee-Jay Records’ original designs. It also comes in three possible vinyl colors.

An absolute classic in every respect.
