BOILER ROOM PRESENTS AN EVENING WITH BONOBO (DJ SET), INNOV GNAWA, DJ SABINE AND NICKODEMUS IN NYC
FREE WITH RSVP JANUARY 19th IN NYC; STREAM LIVE AT BOILERROOM.TV
In September of 2016, prolific electronic music producer Bonobo embarked on a collaboration with the Brooklyn-based Moroccan Gnawa band, Innov Gnawa. The fruit of their labor was the beautiful piece “Bambro Koyo Ganda” combining the rich tradition of Gnawa music with Bonobo’s lush electronic production. The track was a breakout hit from Bonobo’s 2017 album Migration and is currently nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2018 Grammy Awards. To celebrate the collaboration and Grammy nomination, Boiler Room will present a night of music in New York, with artists that bridge folkloric and modern electronic music, with a live performance from Innov Gnawa and DJ sets by Bonobo, DJ Sabine and Nickodemus.
Innov Gnawa is a young musical collective dedicated to exploring Morocco’s venerable Gnawa music tradition in the heart of New York City. Following up on Boiler Room’s previous Gnawa sessions in Marrakesh, they will turn their focus to New York for this special event. Handpicked by Bonobo to join the lineup will be Brooklyn Haitian Afrohouse stalwart DJ Sabine, and Wonderwheel Recordings on Nickodemus.
The limited capacity event is free with RSVP and will be live streamed live at boilerroom.tv. For a chance to attend RSVP at http://blrrm.tv/bonobo
