Behind every good deed lies a sin so palpable it could scare the Devil off you. This is reflected by the dark-electro macabre of Germany’s Santa Hates You, who formed in 2007 after scaring each other at Hamburg’s Ohlsdorfer Cemetery. Cue the thunder, conjure the lightning and sit comfortable in your throne because this rebellious pairing will not stop until they have devoured you whole.

“Independence” breaks from the city of the dead with frenzied melodies before passing by “Scum” and “How To Create A Monster” – two separate yet complimentary pieces of music. “Slightly Dead,” “Skeletal Parade” and “It’s Alive!” wander the streets searching for souls as grandfather clocks strike three.

A love affair with nineteenth and twentieth century European artistic movements has made the band a musical experiment which blends caustic humour with anti-conformism. Yes, It’s Alive! and, someday, others will step into the mad scientist’s lair to experience a power they never knew existed.
